![]() The Microsoft Authenticator app helps you sign in to your accounts when you’re using two-factor verification. Then, after reinstalling said app, the behavior will go back to normal. So, New Year's resolution (new motto, what have you), "When in doubt, reinstall." Thanks Microsoft. After a certain update, some app will start/stop behaving a certain way. However, when you get a new phone, that's just part of the package.Anyway, I've had this kind of thing happen at least twice. This led me to believe that if I had reinstalled the app on my old phone, notifications might has started working again, but reinstalling the authenticator app is not my idea of a fun evening. The old phone was an Alcatel Idol 4, running Android 6.0, and my new phone is the ZTE Blade Z Max running Android 7.1.1.After I got the new phone, I of course, reinstalled the authenticator app, and push notifications started working again. I started noticing push notifications for the Microsoft Authenticator app weren't coming up after an app update, back in August. So, I thought I'd give a brief update to my original question. ![]()
